This is the first release in the Neon Rush series, an ongoing collaboration between Rex Darr, creator of The Esteemed Gentleman, and Yu Andoh, mastermind behind Finnish watch brand AndoAndoAndo.
This is the second collaboration between these two brands. The first collaboration, The Esteemed Gentleman Limited Edition Vinyl Record Watch, was released in 2025.
This 2026 limited release is available in two dial variants: Electric Blue and Atomic Orange.
The inspiration for the Neon Rush series is a combination of 1980s neon nightlife aesthetic, retro-tech, and collectible coloured vinyl records. The contrasting bright neon dial against a matte black case and strap helps it stand out, turning heads and getting compliments.
The Neon Rush watch comes in the standard Vinyl Record Watch box featuring a presentation cut-out for the dial and easy-to-read measurements including the strap width.
The back of the box has a QR code that, when scanned, directs you to the AndoAndoAndo website where you will find more details on the movement and information regarding the 1-year manufacture warranty.
The top of the box lifts off, revealing the watch dial securely nested on display in the middle of the box, the leather straps below, and stickers above.
Aside from some aesthetic differences, the case of the Neon Rush Vinyl Record Watch is the same as the other VR models. It measures in at 41mm wide, 36mm long, and a thickness of 10.2mm including the raised lip for the flat anti-reflective coated sapphire crystal.
We decided to keep the exhibition caseback to showcase the quartz movement; a subtle nod to cassette futurism designs.
The crown on the dial is modeled to look like a volume knob for a sound system, including a red pip indicator; a small detail that music lovers will appreciate.
Water resistance for this watch is 5ATM (50m). We recommend taking it off if you will be involved in any activities in or around water. However, washing your hands or getting caught in a light rain shower will not damage the watch.
The Neon Rush Vinyl Record Watch comes on a 22mm wide black genuine leather strap with quick release springbars for easy removal. The buckle is branded with the AndoAndoAndo logo. This design choice was to help keep attention focused on the bright coloured dial.
Unlike the original Vinyl Record Watch, this variant contains a Seiko VH31B 0-jewel high-beat quartz movement. This reliable ticker has a 2-year battery life and is accurate within +/- 15 seconds a month.
With a beat rate of 14,400vph, this movement ticks 4 times per second; still maintaining the illusion that the vinyl record dial is spinning.
Reading the time on the Neon Rush Vinyl Record Watch is quite simple. The end of the tone arm points to the minutes, which can be read by lining the tip to the outer chapter ring on the dial. The tip of the "V" logo inside the record label in the middle of the dial points to the hour.
If you look closely, you will see that the middle of the dial rotates like a record would. It makes one full rotation a minute. This is an easy way to tell if your watch is still running or requires a new battery.
Each colour variant in the Neon Rush series is limited to just 25 pieces. Each watch is numbered xx/25 on the side of the case.
